22 Feb CRS Day 2
Day two of CRS kicked off at The Ryman with a surprise performance by George Strait and ASCAP awarding him one of his first ever writers award. The vivacious Laura Bell Bundy gave the crowd a sneak peak of her song “That’s What Angels Do” check out her very touching YouTube clip talking about the way that song affected her here. Some of the new artists who that were showcased, that caught this photographers eye include: Canaan Smith, Drake White, and Mallary Hope. Luke Bryan was so excited when he got the chance to sing with one of his idols, Lionel Richie. The UMG Lunch at the Ryman Auditorium also included other great artists : Easton Corbin, Josh Kelley, Kip Moore, Kacey Musgraves, David Nail, Josh Turner, Scotty McCreery, Randy Montana, Randy Rogers Band, Chris Stapleton, Lee Ann Womack, and Vince Gill. Later that afternoon, during the Artist/Attendee Welcome Reception was when my two passions came together. While chatting with Eden’s Edge, Hannah Blaylock and I had an opportunity to discuss her upcoming wedding, and I got to know Crystal, Eden’s Edge’s manager who is getting married in October of this year! The conversation turned from music to weddings, combining my two worlds of photography. The evening ended with an amazing concert by Lady Antebellum “Own The Night” tour, featuring, Thompson Square and Darius Rucker. A good friend of mine, Tyler Lewis and Crystal Brock, and I very much enjoyed the Nashville show…Luke Bryan showed up and Lady A sang “Do I” with them, Luke wrote “Do I” with Lady Antebellum’s Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood. Then, another fun surprise, Sara Evans got on stage and sang “A Little Bit Stronger” – then they all just got on stage and jammed! After Lady A, was an after hours event put on by Warner Nashville, featuring Hunter Hayes, Gloriana, Big and Rich and Brett Eldredge.
Today I feel like I’ve seen every single artist in Country Music perform! And couldn’t be happier.
