Colony Palm Beach Wedding | Rob and Nhu

Rob and Nhu’s wedding at The Colony Palm Beach was a beautiful celebration of love, friends, and family!

Nhu, who was born in Vietnam and moved to Ohio when she was just 6, and Rob, who is from Rochester, New York, met in college in Dayton, Ohio in 1997. Since then, the couple has shared many great adventures together! The beginning of their lifelong journey started with an epic, cross country road trip across the U.S. in a van they fixed up themselves! Their adventures continued together while Rob attended dental school and eventually led them to the sun and sand of South Florida.

After so much time together, Rob and Nhu’s friends and family had accepted the fact that they may never officially marry. What a surprise it was for them to find out that the two had eloped in December of 2015! For all of their love and support through the years, Rob and Nhu wanted to truly celebrate and thank their amazing family and friends, which is why they planned their celebration at The Colony Palm Beach!

When they visited The Colony Palm Beach, it immediately took their breath away and they had no doubt it was the perfect venue for their celebration, “…quintessential classic Palm Beach with a modern feel.” They wanted to give their guests a little taste of their own slice of paradise here in South Florida.

Since their elopement in 2015 was a private ceremony, they wanted to surprise their guests with a small vow renewal and incorporate who would have been their maid of honor and best man, Nhu’s sister, Chi and Rob’s brother, David. Nhu added meaningful and personal touches to the day, wearing a McClary family pin from 1873 passed down from 5 generations. She also wore her mother’s veil, which her mother wore in Vietnam on her own wedding day, and was one of the few items that came to the U.S. with them. Each of her sisters also wore this veil on their own wedding days. The details of the day were inspired by Rob and Nhu’s love of Florida, showcasing palm trees, beach inspired accents into the food and decor.

It was an honor for Rob and Nhu to celebrate their amazing parents, siblings, extended family and friends, and show them just how much they mean to them! And, it was an honor for us to be there to capture so much love and joy! Congratulations, Nhu and Rob, and thank you for allowing us to be part of your beautiful celebration.
