27 Mar The Oak Ridge Boys Inducted Into The Country Music Hall of Fame
Did you grow up listening to Country Music? I did! Country Music is yes, about rednecks, pickup trucks and beer drinking…but it’s also about Fishin’ in the Dark and being American Made. Country Music is a feeling, it’s a well written story, it’s a heart-song.
Ever since I could talk, I would sing Elvira and I Wish You Could’ve Turned My Head (And Left My Heart Alone) at the top of my lungs. The Oak Ridge Boys, are the perfect example of what country music is all about to me. The Oak Ridge Boys sing gospel songs and make you feel like going to church, they sing about our great nation, our valiant troops and they sing about real southern life, with harmonies that give you goosebumps! The Oak Ridge Boys maintained relevancy throughout the years, they are hip and create new fans every single day through performances and huge social media presence. They’re simply incredible. New and established artists should take note! You just can’t help but love these four legendary singers.
At the most recent Oak Ridge Boys concert my husband and I got to talking about how incredibly dynamic The Oak Ridge Boys are. Zak and I were discussing, it’s not fair that they are not in the Country Music Hall of Fame, when they are one of the most fame’ous voices in Country Music! I asked a few people “what do I need to do to help get these Boys in the Country Music Hall of Fame?” what does it take? I was ready to start a petition, get everyone in Nashville to sign up and get these artists the accolades they deserve. But, before I could even start on my process of finding a way…they’re IN the Country Music Hall of Fame!
You can imagine how excited I was to see a press release stating that The Oak Ridge Boys will be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in the fall of this year!!!! (hugest thank you to the sweet little bird who filled me in on the news 🙂 Joe Bonsall, Duane Allen, Richard Sterban and William Lee Golden, I am SO PROUD and ELATED for you all! You are ledgends, you are gracious human beings and some of the most talented artists country music has ever seen.
Join me in congratulating these incredibly deserving Boys!!
